Western Lesson Program
Our western lesson program aims to build confident and competent riders of all ages. We teach a full approach to horsemanship- grooming, horse care, groundwork, an understanding of tack and western riding. Our goal is for all of our riders to be great communicators to their equine partners. We offer both on the farm lessons using our herd of horses and off the farm lessons where we can come to you and coach you on your own horse.
Group Lessons
Our group lessons consist of up to 4 riders and 2 instructors. In these one hour lessons, our students get 15/20 minutes of saddle time. In the hour, they also get horse care, grooming, barn chores and fun. Our group lessons are for beginner riders that want to get an immersive experience with horses and time to ride. This is a great entry point into our lesson program. Group lessons are offered on Saturday mornings at 9am and Tuesdays at 4:30pm. This is an every week commitment. Semi-Private Lessons
Semi Private lessons are for up to 2 riders and using 2 horses. In this one hour session, each student is expected to groom and saddle their own horse and prepare for their instruction time in the saddle. This is a wonderful spot for riders to begin their intermediate journey and continue skill building under saddle. Lesson slots are one hour in length and available Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. This is an every week commitment. Click below to get on our waitlist for semi private lessons.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are one on one lessons with an instructor. These lessons can be for a rider of any skill level. Kim also gives specialized private lessons for those pursuing something specific in the western horse world. If you ride at Stags Bend Farm, you can ride one of Kim’s horses or Kim is available to come to you and instruct your horse and rider team in your arena. In this one hour lesson, our riders are expected to groom and tack up the horse they are riding and they will spend the remaining time receiving coaching and instruction under saddle.
